About

The Turkish Language course is taught as a compulsory course in the Fall and Spring semesters to students studying in the undergraduate and associate-degree departments of our university.

The Turkish language is a rich language that has continuously maintained its existence for centuries, from the historical to the contemporary. Instilling language awareness in every student studying at our university is among the most fundamental goals of the Turkish Language course. In line with this goal, the theories of the emergence of languages and the languages of the world are classified in terms of origin and structure, thereby determining the place of Turkish among the languages of the world. The developmental ages of the Turkish language are explained from a linguistic perspective. By teaching the history, development and periods of Turkish literature along with its prominent genres and figures, the aim is to develop students' knowledge of Turkish literature. It is among the fundamental goals of the department for students to learn the grammatical features and spelling rules of Turkish and to use punctuation marks fully; to acquire academic research, academic reading, writing and listening skills; and to develop their presentation abilities.
