Title
Graduates who complete the Anesthesia associate-degree program receive the title of ‘Anesthesia Technician’.
Courses Taken in the Program
In the Anesthesia associate-degree program, along with basic medical sciences courses such as anatomy, physiology and pharmacology, clinically oriented courses such as clinical anesthesia and life support applications are taken.
Practical Courses and Internship Opportunities
In laboratory courses, students carry out practical applications with educational models under the guidance of an instructor. They complete their in-term internships within the scope of the Professional Practice course in public hospitals or private hospitals. In addition to in-term internships, they are required to do at least 20 working days of summer internship before graduation.
Working Areas and Duties of Anesthesia Technicians
Their main working areas are operating rooms. Anesthesia technicians carry out the technical checks of all devices and equipment before surgery. They prepare the drugs and fluids to be used during the anesthesia application. During the anesthesia application, they carry out the procedures related to anesthesia together with the anesthesiology and reanimation specialist. After surgery, they carry out the patient's follow-up and treatments in the recovery room. As a member of the blue code team in critical situations such as cardiac and respiratory arrest within the hospital, they carry out emergency interventions together with the anesthesiology and reanimation specialist.
Graduates can be employed in public hospitals, university hospitals and private hospitals. They can work in the intensive care and emergency services of hospitals, and there are also job opportunities in different areas such as hair transplant centers.
